Automated Sliding Gate: Orange Is The New Black

Project: Automated Sliding Gate with Exit Door, Campbellfield

This automated sliding gate is very much on trend. Regis Consulting approached Sidcon to fabricate and install the entrance to their storage facility in Campbellfield. The components are:

  • Automated Sliding Gate on floor tracks
  • Exit door to allow customers to access their storage rooms
  • Colorbond screen wall

Ken Snow from Regis Consulting just was expecting the gate to slope in line with ground level. This would have meant the top of the gate was on an angle. We had other ideas. The gate still follows the existing ground level, but remains level on top. Perforated mesh covers both the exit gate and the final metre of the sliding gate as a safety measure. This prevents anyone from putting limbs in harms way as the gate opens. The mesh on the exit gate prevents access to the door latch located in the inside only.

A further safety measure is the addition of a colorbond screen wall that the gate slides behind. A nearby fire escape exit opens directly next to the gate. The wall allows pedestrians to walk in safety next to the gate as it opens or closes. This option is simple, practical and cost effective!

The Colour

The client elected, on our advice, to go with an orange gate. This is in keeping with their brand, and it makes a bold statement! After all, orange is the new black!
